TEDxAnarkali – Revitalizing the cultural heritage

October 6th, 2011

I will not define TED all over again as many has already done that. I am more concerned to the E of TED, here it represents “entertainment” and it is one regular feature of TED or TEDx events. Entertainment is not just about fun only; it can be helpful in elaborating tough subjects with ease and less time. The best example can be Junoon and Shehzad Roy trying to redefined Poetry of Iqbal in late 90s.

TEDx is coming to Lahore again; where team of TEDxLahore is busy in designing the third edition of the event and the work is underway TEDxAnarkali is coming to add music to the TEDx legacy of the city. Music is the feature of this event to celebrate the E of TEDx.

20 things I am Looking For at TEDxBristol

September 7th, 2011

Normally I avoid writing such posts that mention the certain number of best and worst things. The reason might be the facts that I do not consider anyone not even me to determine some really best or worst things about something that yet has to happen. However, I will justify this post of mine with the human psychology of doing something other than the usual things either because of excitement or because of pride. I have both the reasons for this post so out of the blend created by the excitement and the pride towards TEDxBristol. TEDxBristol is indeed the next big thing happening in Bristol or i batter say West of England tomorrow in Mshed Bristol at 10am. So, here are few things that I am looking forward tomorrow.

TED Talks From Pakistan – Never Give up on Your Dreams

July 8th, 2011

During the days I was busy with my studies and exams I have been absent from this blog, I planned to redesign the way this blog has been going on since last two years. Just to make it bit more active I made some decisions and one of them is to start some series. Therefore, this post is the first edition of the series that I planned. This series is about the TED Talks from Pakistan. I will be sharing the best of TED talks from TEDx events that took place in Pakistan just to do my part in spreading and praising some of the ideas. Below is the talk by my childhood hero Imran Khan, who is telling the advantages of never giving up the dreams. The best part I found in it was the list of DOs and DONTs in the time of failure. Have a look and take a listen:

TEDx reached Cardiff 2nd Time

April 11th, 2011

I have been connected to the TED fever to a new level for last one year almost. All thanks to TEDxLahore and since than i am, somehow, connected the TEDx events that are taking place in Pakistan, and listening to the TED talks. This past Saturday i got chance to be at another TED event, TEDxCardiff. It was for sure the biggest TEDx event in Wales, and for me it was first TED event that i attended outside Pakistan. Talks were interesting, motivating, informative, and yet entertaining. This is a regular feature of TED events but the best thing that i found in this event was the chance of meeting people from different countries, with many ideas to share. I met people from the places such as Turkey, Ireland, France, China, United States of America, Australia, Egypt (Osama a student of UWIC who was organizer of TEDxCairo).

TEDxAnarkali – the first TEDxLive of Pakistan

March 9th, 2011

University of Central Punjab, Lahore had the TED experience this past week by hosting TEDxAnarkali Live. It was a small gathering of more than thirty people. They all gathered to experience the crisp of TED 2011 that was presented via live simulcast. If I am not mistaken this was second TED event in Pakistan of the year 2011, after TEDxKinnaird. Kenichi Ebina was the opener of the event as his talk Magic Moves was the first TED Talk that was shown to the audience. That was a nice and energetic starter before the some more and solid course could be offered. That performance helped in creating interest among the audience for what is coming next.

Time for Rethinking Us at TEDxKinnaird

February 18th, 2011

(This post was First Published in Lahore Post Blog)

Ideas are something powerful enough to bring change. Another fact is that the current era is an era where a war is going on – The war of ideas. Therefore, the victory in this war is not going to happen because of military might and technology for defense. The war of ideas can only be won by more ideas. Ted is a platform to spread the ideas that deserves to be shared with the mass audience.
