Annelies Marie Frank better known as “Anne Frank” was born on 12th June 1929 in Germany. In 1933 when Nazis took control of Germany, like many other Jews Anne Frank’s family migrated to Netherlands to find shelter from Nazis. But the nightmare kept chasing them, in 1942 Netherlands was occupied by Nazis. And a new chapter of the prosecution of Jews begun, Anne Frank was sent to Bergen-Belsen Concentration camp where she died in 1945 almost at the age of 16. Her father, Otto Frank, was the only survivor of the family and when the war ended he came back to Amsterdam where he found Anne’s diary. This diary contained records of Anne’s life from June 1942 until August 1944. Her diary made her one of the most discussed holocaust victim. The diary was published in English in 1952 under the name of “The Diary of a Young Girl” and later on several plays and films were made based on it.

Life is indeed unpredictable and complicated than the fiction. Repeatedly this reality bounces to us but this bouncer hits hard when you hear about the death of someone dear to you. Yesterday out of nowhere, the news of Abdul Rauf Khalid’s death came and turned my day into a sad one. My introduction with him took place with his TV drama Laag based on Kashmir. However, all those who grew up in Pakistan during 90s must know the famous TV series Guesthouse; it was also the production of Rauf Khalid’s pen. He was a man of ideas that is why he is a legend to m. In title of this post, I called him friend, and it is exactly how I felt about him after meeting him at Oxford this year for PYLC.

been totally out of question. This weekend I started to consider making a comeback to the regular blogger category. In addition, all the credit goes to the one of the few readers I have. Hmm what to write about is the question I do not want to spoil my holiday taste by talking about good for nothing politics however closing eyes never changes the situation so will rant about it soon so do not worry the angry and rebellious side of Azlan will be exposed soon and very often now. The other option for me to write a blog was a category that I consider myself good at, and that is promoting the beauty and beautiful places of My Land Pakistan.
