To, A Few Elders

May 23rd, 2012

Life is indeed unpredictable and plans can never remain constant, I come across to this reality every now and then. The latest encounter I had with this factor is right now when I am writing this as this has never been in my plans or in my thoughts that I will ever write about this, but sometimes the incidences you come across force you to react to the things that you never bothered to think about. Yesterday when I was roaming in the city and trying to enjoy my evening a few Punjabi words hit my listening sense the simplest translation of those words are, “do you have any manners, how to talk to the elders?”.

Maya Khan – The imbalance of power and responsibility

January 23rd, 2012

Woh aapki jo bhi lagti ho main aapki Ammi hoon (Sournce Facebook)

Initially when I responded to this whole development I felt as if somehow I am fanning a non issue to be an issue. I was wrong, and I came to this decision while thinking about it over and over again. When we can spend hours in long, endless, yet good for nothing political debates on all the platform we have access to than why not on such issues. There is something huge hidden even in the smallest news, because what ever get the status of news never remain just an ordinary thing. These are all purely my own thoughts over the video of a morning show from last week that became talk of the social media town, because of which I have been through thought process and eventually keyboarding all those bits of views. I have described my initial opinion on it but the game changer was the verse from the holly Quran that I read this past afternoon. In Chapter 24 (Surat Nur) it is written in verse 27 and 28:

Alim Online – Caught Red Handed Online!

Amir Liaqat

This Post was originally written for Pak-Media Blog

It was Independence Day but something happened in the online space of Pakistan that diverted the online conversation topic from Pakistan to Dr. Aamir Liaqat Husain. I am referring to the video that has been bigger hit than the film Bol itself in Pakistan. Geo reported copyrights over it and was taken down from Youtube but this gave even more boast to it and as a result, the so-called real face of the Online Aalim revealed. There is a debate over the thing, some are serious and critical about it, some are making fun of the poor target, and some were asking ARY to fire him along with spreading the contact number of ARY heads so that message can be sent to them. All those who have not seen this diamond jubilee hit I am sharing it below (sorry for the foul language, but someone else should be far more sorry and ashamed over it):

How Technology can change life of Madrasah Students

August 4th, 2011

I have been of the opinion that Madrasahs (seminaries) can be the best NGOs and more than a year old post of mine shows my opinion over this part of our society (here). Being a Madarasah student in the past I know that there is a cushion for something productive to be used in the leasure time that students at seminaries have. Learning Quran is indeed one great thing but learning Quran along with gaining the know how of the latest updates that are taking place in the world can be helpful to the Madrasah students. Thanks to facebook I came accross to the following video that is showing that Technology can change life of a Madrasah Student.

Islam Awareness Week in UWE

February 6th, 2011

This past week was celebrated as “Islam Awareness Week” in University of the West of England (UWE, Bristol) by ISOC (university’s Islamic Society). The Society came in to my knowledge after my first Friday prayer that I offered on the campus. ISOC is the society that arranges the Friday prayer and other important information (e.g. prayer timings) for the students. Along with that, they arrange different talks and events to spread the real message of Islam.
I followed this event closely; the reason is that it is the first event on the campus that attracted me. For the whole week, there has been “Discover Islam Exhibition” on One Zone. Another feature of this exhibition was to answer the common misconceptions about Islam along with other questions regarding Islam, informative and interesting ligature was distributed free.
