Pakistan Day, Men in Green, and Olfrute

March 23rd, 2011

It is a Green morning, that is what I was thinking this morning while I was looking out of my window when the colours of spring were all over the trees across the road. They were green and dancing with the air, so I was not alone to enjoy and celebrate Pakistan Day today. Yes, its 23rd March and the biggest feature of the day, for many people, is the quarter final of ICC Cricket World Cup where Pakistan is playing against West Indies, former 2 time world champions and known as black windstorm. It is an important match and all the best wishes for the men in Green. Lobbying, grouping, double-crossing, has become part of the game for last two decades almost. After match-fixing, the course of grouping has destroyed cricket in Pakistan the most. We can see the same thing now. In an interview ex captain, Inzmam-ul-Haq said that team is divided in two parts and they are not going to play world cup they will show that who is in what group.

Zulu’s Strange Journey

November 8th, 2010

Zulqarnain Haider the person who played key role in last game to make Pakistan win and he was the hero of the moment that day. The same Zulqarnain, I gave him name – Zulu, was missing today and as per his fb status, he is doing all this as a result of life threat he received. Apparently, it is a journey from UAE to UK but from the corner of the book, I am looking at whole story it is not. It is a journey that started from UK and now has reached to the point where the leading character of the story is back in England. No idea where this story is going take him now, if this all is going to be a new turn in his career or his career is over. Time will decide all this, but still there are many questions about what happened this morning.
