I Have a Dream

May 25th, 2012

I have done Masters in Political Science, export business is my bread and butter. Now I want to be a politician and serve my people. For that, I want to join a certain mainstream political party, a party that is career oriented and open to workers. A party that, with the passage of time and service, gives equal opportunity to workers to reach top post, i.e. Party Chief. I want to be the top man of the biggest political party of Pakistan. While I was planning my journey, the very first question in my mind was, “Is it possible in Pakistan for a person like me to lead a political party?

February 12th, 2012

Issues can be resolved better when different brains sit together, debate over it, and come up with the solution that leads to the betterment of those around and who have real concerns attached to it. Keeping this factor in mind Oxford University Pakistan Society organized “Pakistan Future Leaders’ Conference” in the prestigious city of Oxford. This conference gave chance to the Pakistani students from more than fifty universities across UK to come to Oxford University.

Alim Online – Caught Red Handed Online!

Amir Liaqat

This Post was originally written for Pak-Media Blog

It was Independence Day but something happened in the online space of Pakistan that diverted the online conversation topic from Pakistan to Dr. Aamir Liaqat Husain. I am referring to the video that has been bigger hit than the film Bol itself in Pakistan. Geo reported copyrights over it and was taken down from Youtube but this gave even more boast to it and as a result, the so-called real face of the Online Aalim revealed. There is a debate over the thing, some are serious and critical about it, some are making fun of the poor target, and some were asking ARY to fire him along with spreading the contact number of ARY heads so that message can be sent to them. All those who have not seen this diamond jubilee hit I am sharing it below (sorry for the foul language, but someone else should be far more sorry and ashamed over it):

Stay Divided and See The Fall

July 21st, 2011

Question is simple, “why you people hate MQM?” this question was asked by my Faisalabadi friend from my other friend who is Sindhi. By that time, I realised that politics is going to be the dessert of the dinner that I was trying to finish. The statement of Senior Minister of Sindh Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza has given a discussion topic to many people. And we four friends were enjoying this hot cake at that time.

My friend who is from interior Sindh and spent some years in Karachi unfolded charge sheet against MQM and Urdu speaking community, the final allegation was “they don’t like Sindhi people”. “Keep it simple mate, if you hate them then they have all the rights to dislike you”, I tried to add my notes into the discussion.

Principles Will Be Compromised

June 29th, 2011

Nine Zero, Karachi. the Head Office of MQM

This past Monday evening, on the table full of spicy food and some of the good friends around the atmosphere turned little more spicy because of the political flavour that always jump into the discussions out of nowhere. The reason for this sudden change was yet another political move of MQM, the political party that has a reputation of resigning from the positions after almost every second month. The other two friends who were joining me on the table are from Karachi therefore they wanted to pursue this discussion. One of them came up with the question regarding my opinion on this latest resignation move of MQM as I favoured the resignation of Marvi Memon.

These both are different issues and both have different future perspective that is what I could say, and tried to sum up the discussion right there as talking about MQM resignations is a waste of time because this is a political film that releases after a certain period of time with the same star cast.

Easy and Worthless Victims

January 15th, 2011

Flip the channel and get the news that certain number of people died in an attack, suicidal attack, or any other form of mass killing. It might have become a part of our habit and attitude. Maybe that is the reason that we keep silent on such massively sad incidents. We remain silent because that someone who dies in any barbaric incident is not particularly related to us. Alas, the human life has become worthless to us all. We do not care about it anymore. Be it political game of MQM or the assassination of Governor of Punjab, since a few days there have been so many causalities in our political and social front which caught attention of many.
