Keh Dena… A Tribute to Albela Rahi

October 30th, 2011

Many years ago, a lean young man came to Karachi from East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) with hopes of better future in the music industry. He started his struggle with gigs at a cafe located on Tariq road, Karachi. Later on, this young man appeared on TV with his guitar, his only companion in this city, on Sohail Rana’s music show for children kids show. Who knew that in future this young man will become the pioneer of pop music in Pakistan, his Albela Rahi was the official beginning of pop music in Pakistan. We know this Albela Rahi as Alamgir, One of the most electrifying performers Pakistan ever produced on musical front.

My Pick from Coke Studio III, Session 1

June 10th, 2010

I have never been a “Coke Studio” fan, but this year I have no idea but I have to confess that there is some strange charm in it this year that I am somehow following it. Well as Coke Studio Season 3 has begun and the day it started everyone was talking about it. I missed the show as I was at my workplace while the show was on.

Anyways, as I said everyone was talking about it so it was almost impossible for me to give it a chance to entertain me. Well what I have observed is one song or one performance which is most talked about, and that is Arif Lohar’s performance. I listened to it after one of my friend asked me to download this song for him well trust me I have not downloaded it yet but yes I have listened to it many times by now.

Ahmad Rushdi– some of my favorite songs

April 11th, 2010
Last night when I got back home after my work, for many people it was weekend night but not for me due to the type of job I am in however when I logged in my twitter account there was a tweet by one of my green friend Ammar Haider, regarding the legendary singer Ahmad Rushdi. That tweet has made me recall all the classics and hits by Ahmad Rushdi. What an experience it was to listen these melodies therefore I decided to share some of my favorite songs by him to pay a tribute to an almost forgotten legend. One more thing in Urdu Films he was the voice of the super star Waheed Murad, even Waheed Murad said on the death of Ahmad that I have lost my voice now. The ever green song Ko Ko Korina was the first urdu pop song of Pakistan Hisory.
Ok enough form my side here are some golden hits of Ahmad Rushid:
