A Few Options for (Ex) PM Gilani

June 19th, 2012

yeh kya hua... kese hua.. kab hua... kion hua....

The so called “UN-expected” news came out and Supreme Court of Pakistan has said something to our Ex but still beloved Prime minister the same line that due to economic crunch many employers have heard from the mouth of their employers, “Your Services are NO MORE required”. Yes our Prime minister has to leave his post and PM house and ironically there is no one “who is stopping him”. Like every big news this also get response from the nation that is famous for wasting time on issues as well as no issues. While I was trying to learn “Storify” I made a test story on this incident but the best part is to me is the list of options Mr. Gilani have to spend his Post PM office time. in case you like the list the credit goes to me and in case you find it piece of crap get your sense of hummer tested.

Media diversion from Spot Fixing in IPL to Shahrukh Khan

May 18th, 2012

Shots went out of the park, wickets flew in the air and entertainment to the fullest, I’m talking about IPL that is Indian Premier League. It started with a bang with its first season when Lalit Modi was in charge. He really did bring a creative idea to the table claiming respect from all over the world. IPL is a franchise which allows cricket players from all over the world to play with their fellow cricketers from different countries combined in a team.  I had followed the first season very closely since it featured our Pakistani players. I had supported Rajasthan Royals from the beginning and they had won.

ذرا سی نم ہو یہ مٹی تو بڑی زرخیز ہے ساکی

(All I needed to be an opportunity this land is indeed very fertile)…

Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal was so right in penning this thought in his poetry, and whenever the news of any accomplishment comes up out of nowhere this poetic verse comes to my mind. This morning is one of those when I recall these words and feel to be proud for my green passport, in fact more proud as I normally am proud of it. Now when I am writing this after my morning walk there are a few old Welsh fellows (old in age) around me, as usual, but today an unusual proud is accompanying me. I am talking about the Oscar award that goes to Pakistan for the short film “Saving Face”. Pakistan won its first Oscar Award and Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy must be thanked and congratulated for this success. It was first time in many years that a Pakistani film was nominated for Oscars, moreover, a film that was made by a woman.

Donkey, Lord, Potter, and Punjab Assembly

January 25th, 2012

There is a famous Punjabi saying that says, “Potter faced the anger when lord fell from the donkey”.  Our politics seems to be the same lord that drops all his anger and frustration on poor potter when the real culprit is donkey. There are many issues need urgent solution but authorities are busy in moulding non issues to be issue, ultimately potter like nation suffers. This Afternoon, Punjab Assembly passed a resolution to seek ban on the concerts causing ‘problem’.

Maya Khan – The imbalance of power and responsibility

January 23rd, 2012

Woh aapki jo bhi lagti ho main aapki Ammi hoon (Sournce Facebook)

Initially when I responded to this whole development I felt as if somehow I am fanning a non issue to be an issue. I was wrong, and I came to this decision while thinking about it over and over again. When we can spend hours in long, endless, yet good for nothing political debates on all the platform we have access to than why not on such issues. There is something huge hidden even in the smallest news, because what ever get the status of news never remain just an ordinary thing. These are all purely my own thoughts over the video of a morning show from last week that became talk of the social media town, because of which I have been through thought process and eventually keyboarding all those bits of views. I have described my initial opinion on it but the game changer was the verse from the holly Quran that I read this past afternoon. In Chapter 24 (Surat Nur) it is written in verse 27 and 28:

Sin of Helplesness

June 9th, 2011

Mother of Sarfaraz Shah, the Boy Killed by Rangers

Hopelessness is a sin and helplessness leads one to the point where this sin is performed by us all. There are many things that leads one to the point where one becomes helpless and then hopeless, one major factor that cause this situation is the injustice in the society, when this is a clear fact that there will no justice be provided one becomes hapless with everything around. This is the time when a society turns into a bunch of hopeless and frustrated individuals. If we look around in Pakistan almost everyone is frustrated and level of patience is on the lowest point.
The simple reason for this situation is law and order situation of Pakistan, decisions of government that directly and negatively affect the lives of the people, but one big factor is the sense of not getting the justice when required as someone with power will flex his muscles and make the decisions to bend in his favor.

Upon What hand Shall I Find Blood???

March 2nd, 2011

We are ashamed… We are or just me... I was confused when I saw a shattering news right after I woke up. The Minister of Minority Affairs Mr. Shahbaz Bhatti has been assassinated and Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan has accepted the responsibility. I am feeling thankful to TTP for taking the burden on their head, when each and every one of us is the real responsible for what happened to Mr. Bhatti. This assassination is a real setback for Pakistan and a quite successful attempt to prove that this place is the most violent and extremist country, where asking question is a bigger sin then the sin itself. TTP might have been just a chapter of his story but what about all of us who molded this story in a way that it reaches to a point where there are pictures of a car in with broken glasses, states soaked in blood, and must to mention more than 20 bullets.
